Packaging inventory is often created before the finished product is made. Bottles, pumps, caps, labels and cartons may each have their own MOQ, lead time and supplier requirement.
When those quantities do not align with the product order, a brand can be left with excess packaging. That inventory has value, but it also needs storage, traceability and a plan for future use.
Before placing an order, compare component MOQs against the expected reorder plan. Confirm whether unused components can be stored, how long they can be held, and whether future materials or decoration may change.
A packaging decision should balance design, quality, MOQ, cost and long-term operational fit.
